Isolated on a rocky point by the Atlantic Ocean between Cascais marina and Hell's Mouth, the ultra-contemporary Farol Design Hotel combines a remodelled 19th-century mansion with 21st- century design. Hotel Features.
Once the summer home of the Count of Cabral, Farol Design Hotel upgraded the original 19th-century building and added a new section in 2001. A youthful clientele comes here to relax in daytime and party in Cascais nightspots after dark. Complimentary drinks are offered to guests upon arrival. Wireless Internet access (surcharge) is available throughout the hotel. A laptop computer can be lent to guests without charge. A saltwater pool and children's pool open in warm- weather months; the surrounding flagstone terrace is furnished with sun loungers and sun beds.

From Lisbon Airport, follow signs to Hwy A5, proceed west on Hwy A5 to end, exiting toward Cascais. At third roundabout, turn right. Proceed to the coastal road and turn left. The hotel is the first building on the right.
A free municipal bus, which stops in front of the hotel, makes a loop through Cascais. The town of Cascais lends bicycles without charge. They can be borrowed at a stand 1.5 kilometres west of the hotel on the paved cycle-running path bordering the coastal road. The hotel staff can summons taxis on request.
