Getting there.
The number 457 city bus departs every 20 minutes to central Catania. Buses also run directly to Syracuse. Tickets are available from a booth in front of the terminal building, and must be validated when boarding. Taxis cost around 100 EUR to the Alla Giudecca hotel. Prices are all subject to change.


Getting around.
An inexpensive rail network links Sicily's larger towns, including Palermo, Messina, Catania, Taormina, and Syracuse. Buses run throughout the towns and many of the smaller villages. A car is recommended for exploring the less touristy areas.


Driving directions. Depart Catania airport. Take Statal Street (SS 114-Orintale Sicula) towards Siracusa. Go past the exit for Siracusa Nord and take the next exit. At the city, follow signs for Ortigia. Cross over the bridge. Continue along to Via Alagona to the Alla Guidecca Residence Hotel.
